Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides comprehensive education benefits for veterans who served on active duty after September 10, 2001.

  • Tuition and fees (paid directly to the college)
  • Monthly housing allowance (if eligible)
  • Annual stipend for books and supplies
  • Option to transfer benefits to eligible dependents (if approved)

  • Must have served on active duty after September 10, 2001
  • Must meet minimum service requirements set by the VA
  • Must have an honorable discharge
  • Benefit level is based on length of service

First-Time Users:
Apply online at https://www.va.gov/education/ and complete VA Form 22-1990 (Application for Educational Benefits) to receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).

Returning Users:
If you have previously used VA education benefits, complete VA Form 22-1995 (Change of Program or Place of Training) at http://www.gibill.va.gov to receive an updated Certificate of Eligibility.

Submit the following items to the Ranger College Financial Aid Office:

  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
  • DD-214 (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty)
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges or universities
  • VA Request for Certification Form
  • VA Degree Plan

Degree plans are completed by your advisor.
