Montgomery GI Bill® for Selected Reserves (Chapter 1606)
Chapter 1606 provides education benefits to members of the Selected Reserve and National Guard.
What the Benefit Covers
- Monthly education benefit payments
- Can be used for tuition, fees, and training programs
- Supports degree and certificate programs
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an active member of the Selected Reserve or National Guard
- Must have a six-year service obligation
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must remain in good standing with your unit
How to Apply
Apply online at https://www.va.gov/education/ and complete VA Form 22-1990.
Required Documents
Submit the following to the Financial Aid Office:
- Certificate of Eligibility
- Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE / DD Form 2384)
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges
- VA Request for Certification Form
- Degree Plan (completed by your advisor)
