Exemptions & Waivers
The state of Texas and Ranger College provide and fund several tuition exemptions and/or waivers. Interested students should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid or the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board at 1-800-242-3062 or www.collegeforalltexans.com for additional information.
Students receiving tuition exemptions and/or agency sponsorship must take their estimated statement to the Financial Aid office along with the appropriate payment voucher or letter before the payment deadline.
Types of Tuition Exemptions:
- Foster Care and Adopted Children
- Deaf
- Blind
- Professional Firefighters
- Highest Ranking High School Graduate/Valedictorian
- Children of Disabled/Deceased Peace Officers
- Hazlewood
- Children of Clinical Preceptors and Professional Nurse Faculty

- Texas Workforce Commission (WIA)
- Division for Rehabilitation Services (DRS)
- Military Tuition Assistance
- Veteran’s Assistance (Vocational Rehab and Post 9/11)
- Educational Aide Exemption
- Early High School Graduation Scholarship
