Ranger Spurs

The Ranger Spurs are a precision dance team that adds a bit of sparkle and pizzazz to Ranger College.  The Spurs are a group that offers new experiences to it's members every year.  Ranger Spurs perform year-round at parades, special events, college competitions and numerous other occasions.   The dance team is a close group with emphasis placed on positive attitudes and developing the most of one's potential.

Scholarships
Each member of the Ranger Spurs receives an activity scholarship.   Freshmen and Sophomores receive $1,250 ($625 per semester).
Our scholarships require each member to maintain a minimum of 12 hours each semester.  Members receive a one hour credit for dance.  This allows most of our workout/rehearsal time to be completed in class.  It also allows members to be active in other organizations and activities taking place on campus.

Expenses
Expenses for Ranger Spurs are kept as low as possible.  Members are asked to purchase their shoes, workout clothes, and tights.  Uniforms are furnished by the college.

Auditions
Auditions are held each spring.  Individuals need to create their own dance routine to be preformed at the audition.
Evaluations are based on dance ability, learning ability, and showmanship.
Individual auditions can be set up through an appointment with the director.  A routine should be presented that was prepared by the person.  This routine should showcase dance and kick ability.
In case travel is not feasible, video tapes may be submitted.  The tape can be an individual or group performance as long as the individual is identified.
Girls accepted through audition receive a scholarship and are expected to attend Spur camp in August.
